| WINDPOWER 2006:Marion Trieste Moderates Panel on Community Issues at Wind Power Sites Marion Trieste, President of Trieste Associates, recently coordinated and moderated a panel titled: Public Acceptance: A Prerequisite for Long Term Industry Success at WINDPOWER 2006, the national conference of the American Wind Energy Association, June 4-7, 2006 in Pittsburgh. Ms. Trieste and the four presenters highlighted the importance of open, transparent, and proactive communication with community members for the successful development of wind energy projects.
| Wind Farms and Property Values: Whats the connection?Trieste Associates recently assisted the Fenner Renewable Energy Education (FREE) Center in its release of Impacts of Windmill Visibility on Property Values in Madison County, a study conducted by Ben Hoen, a graduate student of the Bard Center for Environmental Policy at Bard College. Despite persistent claims that all wind farms adversely affect property values, this report found that property values were unaffected by the 2001 installation of a 20 turbine wind farm in Fenner, New York. |
